A Great NSV!

My current Hemaglobin A1C is 5.3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Yippie!!!  That means my average blood sugar is running approx. 110.

I was pre-diabetic prior to losing weight!  My highest A1C was 5.9 and I just couldn’t get it to budge.

The LapBand has turned all of that around!  I love my LapBand!!!0

That was 80lbs ago~

Tonight at work we had a team building type of staff meeting.  During the dinner portion of the meeting, they showed a slide presentation of all the nurses.  The picture of me was from June 08.  I laughed when I saw it - I said, “Wow!  That was about 80lbs ago!”

Eighty pounds ago - and numerous of NSV’s!

I’m 10 inches from having a healthy sized waist!  Dr. Oz says that a woman’s waist should be half of their height in inches or 35 inches.   I only have 10 inches to go!

Attention Passengers this is your Captain speaking~

Yippie!!!  Yeah Baby!

I flew this morning from Colorado to New York on Southwest Airlines!  I didn’t need a seat belt extender AND I was able to sit in one seat without difficulty!

for my flight home, I’m flying alone and I feared I’d be seated next to someone who would be unhappy with my size and make my long flight miserable, so I purchased a second ticket.  It was cheap and for another’s comfort and mine, I felt it was worth it.

AND the best of all is — ta da — not one flight attendant asked me if I needed a belt extender!  I mentioned that to my daughter and she said, “why would they ask that?  You look normal!”  Me?  Normal?  Impossible!!!

My Best NSV~

My best NSV is my pre-diabetes is totally gone!

My fastings are all in the 80’s!  My postprandial are all in the 80’s and 90’s!

All my blood work is great!  Everything is within normal limits!

Thank You Jesus for My Lap Band!

What a difference a year makes~

Here are some of my NSV’s (non-scale victories)

~ Fitting into the driver’s side of my daughter’s small toyota with 8 inches to spare!  Plus if I get in after my little 5ft3in girl’s driven - I can just slip in easily and then adjust the seat!

~ Fitting into a booth at any restaurant with room to spare!

~ Getting through turn styles with ease!  (those things can scare you to death when you’re obese!)

~ I can weigh at my doctor’s office - on their scale!  Yeah Baby!

~ Working my 12 hour shifts without feeling like I got ran over by a semi!  Leaving work after my 4th shift in a row and going grocery shopping or to the mall!  (a year ago, this was totally unheard of!  I was lucky to make it to my car!)

~ Wearing dresses to church and not hiding my elephant cankles!

~ Dropping from a size 32 to a size 18-20!

~ Wearing a size smaller shoe!

~ Weigh a LOT less than my driver’s license says!

~ Losing 12 inches in my waist!  And a total of 56.75 inches overall!

~ Going into a normal size public bathroom stall instead of the handicap one, AND not fearing they’ll have to call the jaws of life to get me out!

~ Having complete strangers see my Driver’s license and tell me, “That’s not you!”  Well unfortunately, it was for over 20 years!

~ Being able to mark the box at my doctor’s office - “Exercise 6-7 days a week” AND not lying about it!

~ Swimming laps and riding my bike, lifting weights and walking miles without feeling like I’m dying!

~ Being able to go into any store and buy clothes off the rack!

~ Being able to wear sexy high heels!

~ Being able to stand on my tippy toes!

~ Not being out of breath when I climb a flight of stairs!

~ Seeing my refliction in a window and not cringing!

I love my Band!  What a sweet Blessing I’ve been granted!  May I use this blessing to continue to better myself - becoming a healthier and happier person - who serves others to help enhance their lives!
