Carb Cycling~
Just to let everyone know. Carb cycling works! I started 12/15/08 and as of this am, I’ve lost 23lbs. It’s 0-20 grams of carbs a day for 10 days and then add fruit and whole grains back into your diet for 5 days.
My Best NSV~
My best NSV is my pre-diabetes is totally gone!
My fastings are all in the 80’s! My postprandial are all in the 80’s and 90’s!
All my blood work is great! Everything is within normal limits!
Thank You Jesus for My Lap Band!
What a difference a year makes~
Here are some of my NSV’s (non-scale victories)
~ Fitting into the driver’s side of my daughter’s small toyota with 8 inches to spare! Plus if I get in after my little 5ft3in girl’s driven - I can just slip in easily and then adjust the seat!
~ Fitting into a booth at any restaurant with room to spare!
~ Getting through turn styles with ease! (those things can scare you to death when you’re obese!)
~ I can weigh at my doctor’s office - on their scale! Yeah Baby!
~ Working my 12 hour shifts without feeling like I got ran over by a semi! Leaving work after my 4th shift in a row and going grocery shopping or to the mall! (a year ago, this was totally unheard of! I was lucky to make it to my car!)
~ Wearing dresses to church and not hiding my elephant cankles!
~ Dropping from a size 32 to a size 18-20!
~ Wearing a size smaller shoe!
~ Weigh a LOT less than my driver’s license says!
~ Losing 12 inches in my waist! And a total of 56.75 inches overall!
~ Going into a normal size public bathroom stall instead of the handicap one, AND not fearing they’ll have to call the jaws of life to get me out!
~ Having complete strangers see my Driver’s license and tell me, “That’s not you!” Well unfortunately, it was for over 20 years!
~ Being able to mark the box at my doctor’s office - “Exercise 6-7 days a week” AND not lying about it!
~ Swimming laps and riding my bike, lifting weights and walking miles without feeling like I’m dying!
~ Being able to go into any store and buy clothes off the rack!
~ Being able to wear sexy high heels!
~ Being able to stand on my tippy toes!
~ Not being out of breath when I climb a flight of stairs!
~ Seeing my refliction in a window and not cringing!
I love my Band! What a sweet Blessing I’ve been granted! May I use this blessing to continue to better myself - becoming a healthier and happier person - who serves others to help enhance their lives!

Happy Bandiversary to Me!!!
Everyone join me in singing - remember the Happy Anniversary song on the Flintstones? Barney is playing the piano and singing. He sings it over and over and over again, until Fred starts rolling him and the piano out of the room!
“Happy Bandiversary Happy Bandiversay Happy Bandiversary Ha-ppy Ban-di-ver-sary! Happy Happy Happy Happy Ban-di-ver-sary Happy Happy Happy Happy Ban-di-ver-sary.”
This is truly a red letter day! One year! I’m emotional! I thrilled! AND I am in a celebrating kind of mood! “Celebrate Good Times, Come On!”
(my daughter used to say “Salivate” Good Times - she was only 5 years old - if you’re PB’g, I guess that would be true!)
I can’t believe it’s been a year! I can still remember how excited I was the morning of my surgery. I wasn’t scared anymore - just excited, anxious and thrilled it was finally happening!
I have so much to be thanful for! I am thankful for Dr. K. He saved my life! He took a chance on a Super Morbidly Obese woman in her mid-40’s, who sat in his office scared to death he’d say,”no” - He worked hard to make my surgery happen and for that I will be forever grateful. He will always be my hero!
I’m thankful for my bestfriend, “M” who turned me on to Dr. K, I’m thankful for the divorce settlement that helped me pay for my surgery, I’m thankful for Parker Adventist Hospital and the Medical Director there who worked with Dr. K and his surgical staff to help make my surgery possible in the main OR, I’m thankful for all my co-workers who adjusted their schedules not only once but twice to give me the recovery time off, I’m thankful for all of you here - each of you who comes here to post support and encouragement.
This has been a wonderful year! Today is truly the first day of the rest of my life!
