Time for a filler-up~

Last week, I reached my 9 month bandiversary.  It’s been a good 9 months.  I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’ve learned a lot about how to live successfully with my Band.

About nine days ago my soft stop disappeared.  I realized my willpower had to kick in - so I worked hard knowing I had about 9 days til my fill appointment. 

The Band empowers me to do the right thing, but without proper restriction, it’s all my power. 

I’ve learned during the last 9 months that the best way to avoid the cravings, is to avoid the bad carbs.  Those carbs from white sugar, white flour, white rice and pasta are the evil carbs that cause me to crave more to eat - when I know I am not really hungry.  The cravings of head hunger are very difficult to control.  When I realized my restriction was gone, I stopped eating the bad carbs.  It was the week of Halloween, candy everywhere at work.  It was hard to resist, but I did.  

Knowledge is power and knowing that I can avoid the cravings - if I avoid the bad carbs, I have been able to be successful.

I’m not perfect.  I have failed many times.  I’m human.  I’m a recovering food addict.  I’m the owner of an Adjustable Gastric Lap Band.

25 hours til my next fill. 

I’m ready!
